Sophie Cote is an up-and-coming musical artist based in New York City whose sweet sound has moved audiences since her first performances on stage in musical theater at age 7.
Now at 19, Sophie has a dynamic and broadening vocal, dance and acting range known most for singing ballads, contemporary classics, folk and 70s classic rock and modern songs with a gentle, captivating voice. “She sings with her eyes,” and “somehow finds a way to hold the audience every time she performs.”
A mezzo trained as a singer and dancer in jazz, ballet and tap, Sophie performs regularly at cabarets in New York City at spots like “54 Below,” “Don’t Tell Mama” off Broadway and Brooklyn’s Vino Theater. She has performed at The Boston Conservatory & Berklee College of Music, in New York City at Manhattan Marymount College’s talent and theater showcases, on Cape Cod and in her home state, Connecticut, since age 7. She’s played a diverse set of theater roles including Brooke Windham from Legally Blonde and her recent award-winning role as Jo March in Little Women, which earned Sophie Best Lead Actress in a Contemporary Musical at the 2023 Halo Awards. She has performed as a soloist with her guitar and in a range of musical ensembles singing classics like “You Can’t Hurry Love” from the Supremes and Carole King’s “So Far Away.”
Born in 2005 in Hartford, Connecticut, Sophie is pursuing a career as a singer, songwriter and performer.
